After religious spinster's brother is killed during to onset of WWI in Africa, a dissolute steamer captain offers her safe passage. Eager to avenge her brother, she hatches a plan to bomb a German gunboat anchored upriver. But the two may spend more time fighting with each other rather than the Germans.
