He is going to be the second main antagonist in the movie where he sents his associate Punchline as a spy inside Task Force X (Suicide Squad) to learn that Maxwell Lord has the young metahuman "Bolt" to create a weapon from her Speed Force powers, so the Joker's plan was to steal Bolt and the weapon from Lord, until Lord uses his telepathic persuasion to make the Joker and Punchline to join him on his side with the condition that he will make the two clown psychopaths into the king and queen of Gotham City with Batman dead, at the end Joker and Punchline escape the multiversal cataclysm caused by Bolt's access to the Speed Force by the weapon while Maxwell Lord dies at the end.
