Two sons, Andrii and Ostap, came back to their father Taras Bulba, the cossack ataman. Taras took them to the Zaporizhian Sich. The war with Polish Hussars began, and cossacks unsuccesfully attacked the Dubno Castle. Then Andrii fell in love with daughter of polish governor, and, for the sake of love, Andrii was ready to do anything, and because of her Andrii went over the side of the poles. Taras killed his son, Andrii, for betraying him and his friends. Then Ostap has been executed before Taras' eyes. Few days later, the poles captured Taras and burned him.
