Harvey Dent grew up as one of Bruce Wayne’s best friends, them as well as Thomas Elliott were almost inseparable. Harvey suffered abuse from his father his entire childhood being promised that if the coin his father flipped landed on tails that he would spare Harvey a beating, but the coin was double headed and Harvey never won. Eventually after a particularly rough beating Bruce found out what had been happening and told his parents, which lead to Harvey’s father being arrested and sent to Blackgate. Harvey then went to live with his aunt and uncle and eventually went to law school, becoming one of the best prosecutors in Gotham City
