SuperMarioLogan (SML) is a popular YouTube channel created by Logan Thirtyacre in 2007. Originally known for comedic plush-toy parodies of Nintendo characters, the channel has evolved into an independent web sitcom using original puppets after legal disputes with Nintendo.
History and Channel Evolution
Early Years (2007–2015): Logan Thirtyacre started the channel at age 13, originally posting Super Mario themed plush skits and gaming parodies. The "Junior Era" (focusing on Bowser Jr.) and absurd, episodic adventures gained a large, dedicated cult following.
The "Jeffy" Era (2016–2019): The introduction of Jeffy, a rebellious, diaper-wearing puppet, caused the channel to explode in popularity but also shifted the comedic tone to darker, edge-driven, and often controversial adult-swim style humor.
Nintendo Cease & Desist (2021): Facing legal pressure over copyright infringement, Logan was forced to completely rebrand. The cast was shifted entirely to custom, non-copyrighted puppets.
