At first quite resentful of the relationship his daughter Lois has with Superman, he had been working on a project to create a Cyborg Superman to replace him should the Man of Steel ever be killed. Hoping that with governmental control the Cyborg Superman could be better, he soon regrets having been a part of the project when the Kryptonite-fueled Cyborg Superman begins a spree of destruction and aids Lois and Lana in trying to destroy his creation.
