Quex-Ul was once a member of the Military Guild and Defense Council under General Zod, but was convicted of killing Rondors, an endangered species once native to the planet Daxam, to use their healing horns for the purpose of profit. Lobotomized into a wrathful brute by the Science Council and sentenced to the Phantom Zone, Quex-Ul slowly begins to recover his intelligence and eloquence upon being freed by the Cyborg Superman. With it comes a sense of chivalry in not wanting to hurt women if he can help it.
