Chief editor of the Metropolis Daily Planet newspaper, he is saddened to lose Clark and Superman in one fell swoop having figured out Clark was Superman and Kal-El on his own. Having thought of Clark, Jimmy, Lois and Cat as though they were like his own children, he cannot bear to lose another and his usual gruff demeanor becomes much sadder, softer and gentler. After Lois becomes one of the two Superwoman, Perry hopes to contact General Lane and the President in order to start reviving Superman.
