Chief anchor of the Metropolis WGBS-TV Galaxy News television station and an old childhood friend to Clark Kent/Superman/Kal-El. Having figured out Clark was Superman/Kal-El on her own long ago, she and Lois are asked by him to fulfill his dying request - inherit his powers and become the next Kryptonian protectors of Earth. Growing up with Clark/Superman/Kal-El in down home Smallville, Kansas, Lana is able to provide a human perspective for Lois when they team up to continue their beloved's mission.
