Jon was a protecter of Mars and Krypton as both planets were close allies. Jon was such a famous hero and beloved by both Mars and krypton that the house of El actually took Jon’s serpentine form as their symbol (The Superman “S”). But Jon couldn’t stop Krypton from exploding and Martian colonies were destroyed by the meteorites that came from Krypton. The martians attempted to evacuate only to fall prey to Heggra.
