He starts by making a show of dominance by threatening the new gods and HighFather makes a deal for peace between their two peoples. Uxus aka Darkseid chooses to trade Tigra’s son (as payback for Tigra’s role in his enslavement) in exchange for Highfather’s son, Scott Free.
