Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow, often shortened to Sky Captain, is a 2004 science fiction action-adventure film written and directed by Kerry Conran in his directorial debut, and produced by Jon Avnet, Sadie Frost, Jude Law and Marsha Oglesby. It stars Jude Law, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Angelina Jolie.

Just prior to the annihilation of the planet Krypton, scientist Jor-El sends his infant son Kal-El aboard a spacecraft to Earth for his protection. Raised by the benevolent farmers Jonathan and Martha Kent, who name him Clark Kent, young Clark pledges to utilize his extraordinary abilities for the benefit of humanity as 'Superman.' He subsequently secures a position as a reporter for the Daily Planet in Metropolis, where he collaborates with fellow journalist Lois Lane to uncover the misdeeds of corrupt billionaire Lex Luthor. However, this endeavour will provoke the ire of Metallo, formerly known as John Corben, a radioactive cyborg intelligence reliant on Green Kryptonite for his energy supply.
