Fan Casting General Sam Lane in Superman: Man of Steel (1991)

General Samuel "Sam" Lane is a major antagonist turned ally in Superman: Man of Steel. He is a high-ranking, no-nonsense U.S. Army general and the strict but loving father of Lois Lane, of whom he has an awkward relationship with. He, alongside Lex Luthor, is one of the few who oppose Superman, due to seeing him as a possible major threat but after Superman saves Lois from the wrath of Metallo, he becomes his ally.
