Edward James Begley Jr. (born September 16, 1949) is an American actor and environmental activist. He has appeared in hundreds of films, television shows, and stage performances. He played Dr. Victor Ehrlich on the television series St. Elsewhere (1982–1988). The role earned him six consecutive Primetime Emmy Award nominations and a Golden Globe Award nomination. Equally prolific in cinema, his film appearances include Blue Collar (1978), An Officer and a Gentleman (1982), This Is Spinal Tap (1984), Transylvania 6-5000 (1985), The Accidental Tourist (1988), Scenes from the Class Struggle in Beverly Hills (1989), She-Devil (1989), Batman Forever (1995), and Pineapple Express (2008). He is a recurring cast member in the mockumentaries of Christopher Guest and Eugene Levy, including Best in Show (2000), A Mighty Wind (2003), For Your Consideration (2006), and Mascots (2016). He also co-hosted, along with wife Rachelle Carson, the green living reality show titled Living with Ed (2007–2010). After Superman has stopped "The Kryptonian Invasion" Superman has become larger and respected amongst the people of Metropolis and beyond and Lex Luthor's campaign to run for President grows in popularity, although behind the scenes Lex had discovered a strange mineral that glows green with radiation after the events of The Kryptonian Invasion and after some experimenting he discovers that exposure the mineral sickens and weakens Kryptonian DNA and labels the mineral as "Kryptonite" around the the same time respected military solider John Corben has returned from a mission and has reconnected with former friend Lois Lane, John doesn't love Superman as much as the rest of the world since he feels he should use his abilities to interfere with war and after an incident involving the criminal dubbed "The Atomic Skull" that left John severely injured, his dislike for Superman only grows and Lex Luthor offers John to take part in an experiment to place his mind into a mechanical body that's powered by a heart made of "Kryptonite" and made of an indestructible metal alloy known as "Metallo" and this will allow him to take vengeance on Superman.
