It's the year 2008 and the executives over at DC catch wind of Marvel's ambitious plan for an interconnected series of films. Not wanting to be behind, they enlist the help of J. Michael Straczynski to pen a more modern take on Superman. While the film received some criticism for a more brooding take on the character, it was overall praised for its visuals and grounded approach.
