(First appeared in New Teen Titans #2 in 1980 and was created by Marv Wolfman and George Pérez). Slade Wilson is a former US Army major turned mercenary who lost his eye after his ex-wife shot him out of anger of their son Joseph being slashed in the throat by a rival mercenary called the Jackal. During his time in the army, Slade took a serum that enhanced his physiology. Eventually, Slade, under the name Deathstroke, became an enemy of the Teen Titans after being hired to kill or capture them.
