(First appeared in X-Men #4 in 1963 and was created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby). Pietro Maximoff and his twin sister Wanda were allegedly mutants who were the illegitimate children of the mutant terrorist Magneto. After one of the worst retcons in Marvel history, Wanda's and Pietro's powers were a result of the High Evolutionary's experiments. Wanda once accidentally burned down a village and was saved by Magneto from angry villagers, recruiting both her and Pietro into his Brotherhood of Mutants. Due to Pietro's super speed, he was known as Quicksilver.
