(First appeared in Showcase #22 in 1959). Hal Jordan is a former United States Air Force pilot who crashed while flying an experimental aircraft. Upon crashing, he came upon the downed spaceship of a dying Green Lantern named Abin Sur, who passed on his Green Lantern Ring to him. Afterwards, Hal became the next Green Lantern.
