(First appeared in X-Men #1 in 1963 and was created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby). Max Eisenhardt and his family lived in Germany at the time the Nazis came to power. Eventually, they were sent to Auschwitz, where he witnessed his family die, unlocking his mutant powers, which included electromagnetism. After Auschwitz was liberated, he developed a hatred for humans and became the mutant terrorist Magneto, leading the Brotherhood of Mutants.
