She crash lands on Earth in Antarctica and is discovered by Department of Extranormal Operations (DEO) agents. She arrives to discover that her cousin is a full grown adult no longer in need of her protection and initially has no interest in being a superhero, due to still grappling with the loss of her home planet and loved ones. She is adopted by scientist/DEO agent Fred Danvers and his wife linguistics professor Evelyn Danvers under the alias Linda Lee Danvers. She lives in the small city of Midvale and graduates Stanhope University where she meets best friend Lucy Lane and love interest Rick Malverne.
