Mario and Luigi spot a strange glowing platform shaped like a star on the ground, they investigate, But when Yoshi accidentally stumbles into the platform while chasing a butterfly, he ascends to the sky. Therefore the gang must search for him. They arrive in the Star World, a dazzling sky realm full of floating platforms, inverted gravity, rainbow roadways, and strange space-dinosaurs called Nebulosaurs. They meet the Grand Lumina, guardian of Star World, who warns that the balance of this realm is unraveling. Someone has stolen the Star Keys, magical artifacts that keep the gravity, time, and warp zones stable. If they’re not returned soon, Star World will collapse—dragging the Mushroom World down with it! But as it turns out… King Koopa is behind it all. In disguise as the "Star Emperor," he’s hoarding the Star Keys to bend space to his will and replace every world with his face on every star.
