Out of nowhere, the long-lost King Neanderthal and his large pet tyrannosaurus, Rex return to reclaim his throne as the ruler of the Dinosaur World. Turns out he’d been lost for years in a deep cave trying to invent “rock sandwiches.” Princess Toadstool is surprised but gracious at seeing a forgotten royal leader in a vast world of kingdoms and tries to help him settle back into power. The cave people are all confused they had a king in the first place but thrilled to see him return until his royal decrees cause chaos. Things go from silly to serious when King Koopa shows up with a fake treaty and tricks Neanderthal into signing over control of Dome City, so he can go back to making rock sandwiches.
