Strange enters the scene breathless. - Stephen..[the Ancient One then grabs his wrist]. - Listen...Mordo can't get the Eye of Agamotto, or at least what he guards. Do you understand me? - Yes. - The Time Stone...manipulating time always has the potential to generate unpredictable consequences. It's never as trivial as it may seem. - .... - .....I may have failed Mordo, but that didn't mean I thought of "fixing" it using it. There are always things we can't fix. - ...It's going to be alright, I... - Listen, Strange. I saw early on where one of your greatest torments was. Was it your sister? - ......Her name was Donna. We were playing on a frozen lake when she... I tried to reach her, to pull her away, but... [Strange closes his eyes, containing his guilt]. - Strange. - .... - Your sister didn't die because of you. There are some things we can't control how they end. - ..... - .....I not have known her. But [coughs] I can believe she would be proud of you. - .... - You're a good man. Don't let this or anything else make you forget that. Don't let tragedy define you completely. - ...Completely? [A slight smile appears on the master's face] It's what you do after this that will tell who's always right. You, or the others. - ....[an apprehensive smile appears on Strange's face] while his eyes still hold back tears. - Don't blame yourself for this... I've lived a lot, seen a lot. Cried a lot... smiled a lot. I valued every minute. - .... - Stop Mordo. And promise me one thing. - ....What? - ....Live as I did, Stephen. There's always someone who might need you. Including yourself. - ......I promise. - [Smile]...Balance isn't purity, Stephen. It's a choice...it always has been. The Elder's hand begins to lose strength before his eyes go out. The temple's energy dissipates into golden particles that rise like dust, while Strange remains kneeling. He then rises, but now, his eyes don't carry pain — they carry responsibility. - You chose wrong, Mordo.
