Struggling to overcome the lasting repercussions and the stifling role of "school slut," Deanna longs to escape a life defined by her past. With subtle grace, complicated wisdom, and striking emotion, Story of a Girl reminds of our human capacity for resilience, epiphany, and redemption. The movie's setting will take place in 2007, while the film was supposedly filmed in 2010. The movie will follow the same elements as the book, albeit changing a few things so that the story would work as a movie. It will have the same tone as the book, as well as character development, themes, the overall message of the story and some of the character drama in the book that would be carried over in the film.
