Laura Anne KarpmanΒ (born March 1, 1959) is an AmericanΒ composer whose work has included music forΒ film,Β television,Β video games,Β theatre, andΒ concert halls. She has won fiveΒ Emmy AwardsΒ for her work. Karpman was trained atΒ the Juilliard School, where she playedΒ jazzΒ by day and honed her skillsΒ scattingΒ in bars at night.
