After the Clone of Starkiller, General Rahm Kota, and Commander Juno Eclipse were killed on Ossus, Darth Vader promised Palpatine that he would never take on another Apprentice. However, inside his castle on Mustafar, Vader called upon one of his personal servants to transfer Galen Marek's consciousness into a special clone designated Subject 2099 and wiped his mind one last time, turning him into a servant of the Dark Side that later joined Grand Admiral Thrawn and The Chiss Ascendancy as a military General to destroy The New Republic in the years following the Empire's defeat.
