Beyond the farmer's story and his romantic quest—which ultimately leads him to Leah—this version places significant emphasis on unraveling the mystery of Abigail's birth and exploring her friendships with Sam and Sebastian. The role of the unnamed JojaMart cashier is filled by Claire, a character from the popular SVE mod. Additionally, Professor Jasper Thompson (from another popular mod, East Scarp) returns to town to take up residence in the museum, where he grows closer to Penny as she conducts lessons for Jas and Vincent. In this version of the story, Jodi is raising her sons on her own, as Kent has left the family; consequently, she eventually becomes a potential romantic interest for the new farmer. The series also gives a prominent role to Willy the fisherman, who becomes something of a father figure to the farmer, as well as to the sisters Haley and Emily—polar opposites who nonetheless share a deep bond.
