Azkul served under Darth Malak during the Jedi Civil War as a Sith commando in an elite Sith Special Forces detachment, but soon found, like many former Republic and Sith military personnel, himself out of work with the war's end. With nothing to return to, Azkul turned to mercenary pay. He journeyed to Dantooine and began making plans to overthrow the government there with his mercenary army as he is hired by the Exchange to assassinate the Khoonda Administrator so Dantooine could be used for further illegal activities by the crime syndicate. Unfortunately for Azkul and his mercenaries, Jedi Master Vrook Lamar was on the planet. And soon, the Jedi Exile, Meetra Surik, and her crew came.
