Having fled Mimban with the Knights of Ren, Ben Solo (Finn Wolfhard) proceeds to dump a captured Jacen Syndulla (Jaeden Martell) on Taris to leave him for dead. From here, Ben constructs his new Lightsaber and bows before Supreme Leader Snoke (Andy Serkis), adopting the new identity of Kylo Ren and sealing his fate in the Dark Side.
