Dean Grief is initially a distracted cadet war Fleet of the New Republic and Lilian's best friend. Dean's actually in love with her, but he doesn't have the guts to let her know. Liliana knows this because of her Jedi abilities, and she also struggles with her real feelings for him for a long time. Everything will change when the New Empire carries out an unexpected attack on the New Republic, thereby violating all non-aggression agreements, and Dean, as a frontline pilot, puts himself in direct danger to life.
