While taking part in an archaeological expedition, Seven of Nine is transported back in time where she comes face to face with one of the most legendary Starfleet captains of all time, James T. Kirk. Knowing the dangers of tampering with time, Kirk races to help Seven of Nine return to her own timeline, but there are others who seek to keep her in the past and seize the knowledge that she possesses.
