Fan Casting Olaf Thorn in Star Trek: New Horizons

Admiral Olaf Thorn is a slender man around 60 years old with graying hair and a cold, piercing gaze. His uniform is decorated with war medals, but there is darkness in his eyes. He is transported aboard as the head of a Federation diplomatic mission. However, his hatred of the Romulans poses a serious problem for the negotiations. This brings him into conflict with Captain Carver. Unlike Carver, he wants war. His reasons are personal. During the last war, the Romulans killed his son and his family on one of the colonies, and so he longs for their destruction. Eventually, he is recalled from the mission. But during the war, he regains command and must work with Carver again. Eventually, they reconcile and lead an attack on New Romulus together. Character personality: Olaf Thorn is an older man who, on the one hand, has great charisma, but at the same time does not hide his hatred for the Romulans. He has no shortage of leadership skills. However, his hatred clouds his judgment. He believes that war with the Romulans is inevitable. Nevertheless, he shares the values of the Federation. But that is precisely why he does not trust the Romulans and considers them a threat to the Federation.
