The late founder of Team Star Fox's original incarnation, husband to Peppy in all but legal standing, and father to Fox and Chip. James died years ago when he was betrayed by his teammate Pigma during a mission in Venom, but his legacy lives on through the current incarnation of Team Star Fox, led by none other than his son, and through Chip, who had no idea of their father's passing until they finally reunited with the rest of their family. Chip was harrowed to learn of their father's death, and slightly envies Fox because he actually got to know him. As he's dead, he's only seen in flashbacks and visions.
