Fan Casting Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy in SpongeBob Universe Guest Stars

The late Ernest Borgnine and the late Tim Conway have guest starred as Bikini Bottom’s famed television superheroes, Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy, since the show’s beginning in 1999. After Borgnine died in 2012, the characters were retired. Conway’s final film performance before he retired and before he died in 2019 was as one of the talking seagulls in “The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie 2: Sponge Out of Water”.
