Kirk DeMicco (born May 15, 1969) is an American filmmaker. He is best known for his work on animated films, such as writing and directing Space Chimps (2008), The Croods (2013), Vivo (2021), and Ruby Gillman, Teenage Kraken (2023).
In a post-apocalyptic world where marine life have evolved, humanoid squids called Inklings and Octolings engage at a turf war, shooting each other with globs of paint. The "Great Turf War" left scars on society, and while today's youth want to play, darker secrets of their world begin to resurface. A pair of Inklings stumble upon a forgotten relic of the human era and are now targeted by Octavio. they teams up with Agent 3 and Captain Cuttlefish to uncover the truth of their origins while fighting in a global Splatfest that has more at stake than just turf.
