Peter Parker is an ordinary teenager living in Queens with his Aunt May and Uncle Ben, attending Midtown High alongside his best friend Ned Leeds and his longtime crush, Gwen Stacy. During a school trip to Oscorp Industries, Peter sneaks into a genetics lab and is bitten by a genetically altered radioactive spider, granting him enhanced strength, agility, wall-crawling abilities, and a precognitive “spider-sense.” As Peter secretly tests his powers and creates homemade web shooters and a mask, his growing confidence brings him closer to Gwen, and the two begin dating. However, Peter’s rising ego causes him to ignore a robbery one night, believing it is not his responsibility—an act that leads to the same criminal later killing Uncle Ben during a carjacking. Grief-stricken and guided by Ben’s belief in doing the right thing, Peter dedicates himself to protecting others as Spider-Man. Meanwhile, Oscorp CEO Norman Osborn faces removal by the company board as Oscorp struggles to secure a military contract. In desperation, Norman tests an unstable experimental serum on himself, enhancing his strength and intellect while shattering his sanity. Adopting the identity of the Green Goblin, Norman uses advanced Oscorp technology to terrorize New York City. As the attacks escalate, he uncovers Spider-Man’s identity, placing Gwen and Aunt May in danger. In a final confrontation fueled by loss and responsibility, Peter defeats Osborn, completing his journey.
