After putting an end to the ephemeral career of a third Vulture (Clifton Shallot), who tried to kill Mary-Jane Watson, Spider-Man teamed up with Captain Marvel (Mar-Vell) and Mr Fantastic to prevent the thief Basil Elks to seize the Omega Stone, likely to further increase the powers that Elks, become the Basilisk, had acquired with the Alpha Stone. The fight ended in Subterrania, causing the Mole-Man to become involved in the conflict. Then, Spidey found Namor, helping him against the threat of Force, before escaping the vigilant called the Punisher, who had been convinced by the mysterious Jackal that it was necessary to stop the murderer who was Spider-Man at any cost. The latter could dispel the misunderstanding with the Punisher, without discovering who was the Jackal and his reasons for wanting him. A few days later, Peter was horrified to discover that his aunt was with Dr. Octopus, convinced by him that he had been the victim of false accusations; May Parker narrowly missed marrying Doc Ock, the marriage interrupted by the attack on Hammerhead and his men.
