Thomas Jeffrey Hanks (born July 9, 1956) is an American actor and filmmaker. Known for both his comedic and dramatic roles, Hanks is one of the most popular and recognizable film stars worldwide, and is widely regarded as an American cultural icon. Hanks made his breakthrough with leading roles in the comedies Splash (1984) and Big (1988). He won two consecutive Academy Awards for Best Actor for starring as a gay lawyer suffering from AIDS in Philadelphia (1993) and a young man with below-average IQ in Forrest Gump (1994). Hanks collaborated with film director Steven Spielberg on five films: Saving Private Ryan (1998), Catch Me If You Can (2002), The Terminal (2004), Bridge of Spies (2015), and The Post (2017), as well as the 2001 miniseries Band of Brothers, which launched him as a director, producer, and screenwriter. The movie opens with Tom Osborn killing an Ottobot and stealing it's time portal just as several Ottobots come at him. He manages to get the time portal to open and travels back to the year 1989 to fix things. Once there he tries to explain to Mary Parker that they need to reproduce to save the timeline, but Mary just runs away. What Tom didn't know was that an Ottobot followed him back in time and now plans to kill Tom so that nothing changes in the present. Throughout the movie Tom tries to talk to Mary while being chased by the Ottobot and eventually the Ottobot attacks Mary causing her to believe Tom. The two end up in the woods where the Ottobot come crashing into and lighting everything on fire. In the flames the two of them share a kiss before Tom is burned alive. Mary manages to escape and the Ottobot goes back to its timeline know there is now no chance that Peter Parker could ever be born while Tom decides to give up and just live normally until the takeover of Oscorp.
