A hot-tempered research chemist who was wrongfully accused of embezzlement by his employer. Swearing revenge, he created an armored flame-throwing suit equipment and taking the name "The Scorcher" he attacked his former place of employment. Defeated by Spider-Man and sent to prison, Hudak swore revenge. While dangerous, Hudak's temper has more often then not led him to be reckless with his powers and often getting the short end of the stick.
