n the heart of New York City, brilliant but bullied high school outcast Peter Parker finds his life forever changed during a school field trip to Oscorp. Bitten by a genetically altered spider, Peter gains incredible, arachnid-like superpowers. But when his initial selfishness leads to the tragic murder of his beloved Uncle Ben, Peter learns a devastating lesson: with great power comes great responsibility. Vowing to protect the innocent, he takes to the skies as the masked vigilante, Spider-Man.But New York is about to face a double threat. Suffering from a terminal illness, ruthless corporate tycoon Norman Osborn injects himself with an experimental serum. The cure heals him but shatters his mind, transforming him into the psychotic, glider-riding Green Goblin. Meanwhile, a catastrophic laboratory accident severely injures the wife of visionary scientist Dr. Otto Octavius. Driven mad by grief and fused to a prototype mechanical harness, Octavius becomes Doctor Octopus—a desperate man willing to tear the city apart to save his dying love.As Peter balances his chaotic new life—taking pictures for the cynical, Spider-Man-hating publisher J. Jonah Jameson and falling for the beautiful Mary Jane Watson—the Goblin and Doc Ock form a deadly alliance. When the villains discover Spider-Man's secret identity and kidnap Mary Jane, Peter is pushed to his absolute limits. In a thrilling, high-stakes climax atop a rain-swept New York bridge, Spider-Man must not only fight for his life but appeal to the fading humanity of a broken scientist before the Green Goblin plunges the city into total madness.
