Frances Hussey Sternhagen (January 13, 1930 – November 27, 2023) was an American actress. Sternhagen appeared on and off Broadway, in movies, and on TV beginning in the 1950s, won a Tony, and was nominated for three Primetime Emmy Awards.
I was digging up old articles from Ain't it Cool News for the first Spider-Man movie back in January 2000, when Sam Raimi was announced as director, everyone in the comments was making up their fancasts already. It seems like fans wanted Doc Ock as the first film's villain with Gwen Stacy as the love interest, then Green Goblin in the sequel where Gwen dies and MJ being introduced.
