Rosemary Harris (born September 19, 1927) is a distinguished English actress with a career spanning over seven decades. Renowned for her work in theater, film, and television, she has received numerous accolades, including a Tony Award, an Emmy Award, and a Golden Globe. Harris is perhaps best known to modern audiences for her portrayal of Aunt May in Sam Raimi's Spider-Man trilogy (2002–2007). Her illustrious stage career includes a Tony Award for Best Actress for her role as Eleanor of Aquitaine in The Lion in Winter (1966). She has also been nominated for an Academy Award for her performance in Tom & Viv (1994). Peter is shocked that May knows that he is Spider-Man, she is very proud of him. She tells Peter that it is her time to pass on and that she is grateful that she had this time to reconnect with him. As May begins to fade away, the Scarlet Spider watches from the window. Peter is joined by MJ, Aunt Anna. Peter tells May about the dream he had, where he thought he was dying and May guided him into the light. May passes away. While on the roof, Ben Reilly cries. After funeral, Peter and MJ are interrupted by a knock on the door. When they answer it, Peter is arrested by Detective Raven and Connor Trevane. She does not believe that he would do it on the day of Peter's aunt's funeral, but the police said they had no choice and told her to give her husband a lawyer. When Peter is loaded into a car, he sees Scarlet Spider, on the roof. After the police take Peter away, MJ begins to panic over what to do next. She is then interrupted by the Scarlet Spider and tells her that it is about time they meet face-to-face. According to the officers, Peter has been accused of murder of police detective in Salt Lake City. J. Jameson and the security guards watch the monitors. They see the Jackal in his cell rebuffing the taunts from Carnage, in the cell next door. However, they are actually watching a video loop as the Jackal hacked into the security systems, to cause the cloning degeneration factor in human beings. As he flees the cellblock, Carnage threatens to kill him if he harmed Shriek.
