Spider-Man A New Home:
Peter starts college with Harry Osborn as his roommate. They become best friends. Peter also takes up photography for the first time. Peter forms a rivalry that is both academic and romantic with a classmate named Eddie Brock, as he outdoes Eddie in school and falls in love with his girlfriend, Gwen Stacy. Peter is becoming jaded and bitter at his lot in life, still struggling to overcome the pain of losing his aunt and leaving his old life (including MJ and Ned) behind. This is exacerbated by the influence of the symbiote, which bonds with him early on in the film. Peter and the symbiote take on a minor villain together; I'm thinking someone like the Lizard? This could work if Connors is one of Peter's professors. However, after defeating the Lizard, Peter realizes what the symbiote is doing to him and separates himself from it. It then bonds with Eddie, who hates Peter for taking his girlfriend and always showing him up. Maybe Peter was an ass to Eddie while bonded with the symbiote. Eddie and the symbiote become Venom and fight Spider-Man in the third act.
