Margaret White née Bingham is a fictional character and the main antagonist of Stephen King's novel Carrie and all known incarnations of its adaptations.
She is the abusive and mentally ill mother of Carrie White who possesses an extremely unhealthy obsession with instilling her own daughter with her fanatically made-up puritanical version of Christian principles of modesty and chastity, even going as far to rejecting modern science and medicine as being the "work of the Devil" and among other things that are every day occurrences going as far to threaten anybody with a kitchen knife for being "Satanists" to the point of sociopathy.
