In many cases, heroes are not the only ones who can be animal lovers or simply have an animal companion, villains are also seen with some pet or loyal animal servant. These can be just a normal, ordinary animal without conscience that simply obeys its owner or a character with personality being just as evil as its master, although in some cases they sometimes tempt to show an almost heroic role. Some examples are that mafia boss or evil scientist who greets you by petting a cat, or a villain who uses a fighting dog to intimidate his enemies or a classic Disney villain who is always accompanied by a mischievous and charismatic but malicious animal that acts as a henchman and comic relief.
