Gabriel Agreste (born. May, the 2nd 1967), formerly known as Shadow Moth and currently known as Iron Butterfly is a major antagonist and Nicholas Osborn's partner in Season 1 and Season 2 in Chargeshock Thompson & the Justice Avengers and becoming a recurring ally in the rest of the series. Physical Appearance Gabriel Agreste is a tall man with an imposing presence, sharp facial features, and cold blue eyes hidden behind thin, black-framed glasses. He has short, impeccably styled white hair. In the first two seasons, his style reflects his status as a fashion and biotechnology mogul at Osborn Unlimited. In Season 4, following his reform, his look becomes more relaxed; he abandons the rigidity of formal suits in favor of black tactical gear and dark leather jackets suitable for laboratory work and field operations. Following the injection of the Akuma Serum, Gabriel undergoes a truly grotesque biological mutation. His body expands significantly, transforming into a massive monster nearly 2.30 meters tall, boasting hyper-developed musculature and a fearsome stance. His human skin is replaced by a chitinous exoskeleton in shades of dark violet and matte indigo, granting him natural resistance to attacks. Four translucent, light-violet bio-electric wings—crackling with energy and enabling him to hover—sprout from his back. His face transforms into a rigid biological mask featuring solid yellow eyes with sharp, vertical pupils, devoid of any trace of humanity. After being healed and deciding to atone for his sins, Gabriel designs a high-tech suit of armor that combines Agreste Tech resources with cryogenic and biomechanical data from Dr. Connors' Academy. The Iron Butterfly suit is a massive yet aerodynamic exoskeleton, crafted from a silver titanium alloy and brilliant cobalt-blue armor plating. Personality Gabriel was a cold hearted, harsh, and very strict man. He was extremely protective of his son Adrien, having kept him home for most of his life. He had a possessive and distant relationship with him. He has also shown as well that he can solve his problems with money as shown when he leaves Adrien by himself with a thousand dollars. Gabriel missed his wife greatly and sometimes had to be reminded that his son was also grieving as well, making him oblivious to the feelings of others. According to Adrien, ever since the "disappearance" of his wife, Gabriel was a changed man. Despite this, he could be respectful and kind at times, especially when needing to act professionally. Like his former partner, Nicholas Osborn, Gabriel never hesitated to kill, maim or torture anyone who stood in his way. However, unlike Osborn, Gabriel has shown to be occasionally remorseful and was shown to be merciful with those he cared about. While he was obsessed with finding a way to save his wife, he was willing to give up his evil ways to protect Adrien. After being cured by the Akuma Serum, Gabriel’s personality undergoes a profound transformation, driven by an overwhelming desire for atonement. He shifts from a distant, control-obsessed man into a loyal, protective ally—deeply grateful to the Justice Avengers team for saving both his mind and his family. While retaining his analytical mind, seriousness, and exacting nature as a scientist, Gabriel finally learns to openly express his affection for Adrien. Instead of simply throwing money at him to mask his absence, Gabriel devotes all his free time to being a true father, supporting Adrien at the Dr. Maddie Connors' Academy and providing him with Agreste Tech resources to fight as Iron Cat. Gabriel develops a profound respect for Jake Thompson, no longer viewing him as a test subject, but rather as the capable leader and moral anchor his son so desperately needed. When his dark past resurfaces as Doctor Tarantula forcibly reinjects him with the serum, Gabriel displays an iron will. Abilities Akuma Serum Immunity: Due to his genetic modifications, he is absolutely immune to the effects of the Akuma Serum as well as it's other modified versions. Genius-Level Intelligence: He has a genius-level intelligence, being able to create high-tech weaponry & even the Iron Butterfly Armor & the Iron Cat Armor. He also shows mastery over all sciences & business skills. He also shows remarkable skill in utilizing the Iron Butterfly Suit. Resources: Due to his position as the founder & head of Agreste Tech, he has virtually limitless funds, allies, connections, resources, vehicles, gadgetry & advanced technologies. Trivia The relationship between him and Derrick Thompson is one of unspoken respect. While he still keeps an eye on him because of his past with Osborn, Derrick actually appreciates that Gabriel tries to be a better father to Adrien. Gabriel has also taken up a mentoring program as one of Liam's mentors after redeeming himself.
