Sonic Frontiers is a 2022 open world platform game release on November 8 developed by Sonic Team and published by Sega. It is the first Sonic the Hedgehog game to feature open-world gameplay; as Sonic, the player explores the Starfall Islands, which comprise various biomes. Development began after the release of Sonic Forces.
Eggman has invaded the islands where the dinosaurs live and now he wants to inject them with a dangerous weapon, metal virus. Team Sonic, along with other researchers, must stop the Eggman and the virus before all the dinosaurs are exposed to it.
