Lanolin’s behavior against Silver and Whisper, while stupidly protecting Mimic in disguise, doesn’t go unnoticed. Sally starts to have complete distrust in Lanolin as a leader. And once she kicks out Sonic, Tails and Amy from the competition, this enraged Sally even more. This all culminates when Sonic was outed as the Phantom Rider. Lanolin wanted to arrest him, but Sally stops her knowing Sonic was investigating Clutch’s misdeeds, Lanolin being the jerk that she was, kept bossing Sally, Whisper and Tangle around. Sally doesn’t let it slide and slaps Lanolin in front of the audience. Showing how much incompetent she was as a leader. And being forced to admit she protected Mimic, a murderer, was enough to break her ego.
