After 12-year-old Josh Pinski hooks his Sega Saturn up to his dad's recently completed supercomputer to play Sonic X-treme, he meets the game's main characters Sonic the Hedgehog, Miles "Tails" Prower, Knuckles the Echidna, Sally Acorn, Vector the Crocodile, Espio the Chameleon, Mighty the Armadillo, Tangle the Lemur, and Bark the Polar Bear, who got teleported from the video game world into the real world, and teams up with them to stop Doctor Eggman, who also gets teleported into the real world.
