Sonic the Hedgehog 4 plot theories center on the introduction of Amy Rose and Metal Sonic, likely drawing from Sonic CD, with fans predicting a time-travel storyline where Metal Sonic, potentially created by a rogue Agent Stone or the organization GUN, becomes a major threat, forcing Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, and Shadow (with Amy) to team up against a vast Metal Sonic army and a dystopian future, possibly featuring the arrival of Silver the Hedgehog to help. The core conflict involves defeating Metal Sonic (possibly evolving to Metal Overlord) and dealing with the fallout from the Chaos Emeralds' power, as hinted in Sonic 3's post-credits.
